Chilgoza is one of the most expensive dry fruit which is an organic product obtained from the cones of the Chilgoza tree (Pinus gerardiana) also known as the neoza or neja. Chilgoza is a pine native to the northwestern Himalayas in eastern Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northwest India. In India, it is found in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh state. It is known as Ree or Shangti in kinnauri dialect which is harvested in the month of September-October.
