Almost half of all married couples in South Korea were dual income earners last year.
The latest data from Statistics Korea shows that despite the pandemic, most dual-income households continued to work to support their families.

About half of all married couples in South Korea continued to work during the COVID-19 outbreak last year.
The number of double-income households in South Korea totaled 5-point-6 million in 2020, accounting for 45-point-4 percent of all married households.
The figure dropped slightly by point-six percentage points from 2019.
By age group, over 53 percent of dual-income households were in their 40s,... as they are the age group that spend the most on their children’s education.
Those in their 30s came next with 51 percent, followed by those aged between 50 and 64 at 49 percent.
Double-income couples last year worked an average of 39-point-8 hours each, 1-point-3 hours less than in 2019.
