Etude in G minor, written in 1907.
This is a brilliant early etude by Stanchinsky, written in the late-romantic Scriabin style, ’allegro patetico’. It has a heavy virtuoso focus, almost everything is written in octaves, and could be an excellent encore piece on a piano recital.
