Nikolaj Orloff plays Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 8 on Ampico

Nikolaj Orloff (or Nicolas or Nikolai) (1892-1964) is a now rarely-heard Russian concert pianist, who was considered among the great pianists of his time. Among his few recordings are this ca. 1927 Ampico reproducing piano roll in which he performs Chopin’s Etude Op. 10 No. 8, sometimes nicknamed the “Sunshine“ etude.
