Epic WW2 Reenactment [with Aircraft] -- Elkhart 2015

German troops must defend an airfield against an American attack, both from the ground and from the air. Filmed at the WW2 reenactment in Elkhart, IN. This was the first year for this event. Due to circumstances, the video is entirely from the German perspective. The Tiger tank that you see here is the same one used by Spielberg in the final battle sequence of Saving Private Ryan. It is a reconstruction built on the chassis of a Russian T-34. How it has come to roost in the American midwest I don’t know, but it has partaken at a number of reenactments in the last few years and I’ve always appreciated being able to film it. Instagram: Facebook: Check out the “Epic BattleReenactment Montage“: This reenactment was done with blank rounds, which means the shells have gunpowder but no projectile. Pyrotechnics were set off by observers nearby. If you are interested in reenacting, just keyword it and look for a unit near you.
