From nitrous explosions to crashes at 260mph, Brainerd International Raceway delivered one of its most exciting NHRA drag racing events in years. In Top Fuel, Brittany Force led the way in qualifying before Steve Torrence turned around his season with his first win of 2022, defeating Tony Schumacher. In Nitro Funny Car, Matt Hagan stole top position from Robert Hight in qualifying, but Bob Tasca’s form run continued as he shot to victory against Ron Capps in the final. Pro Modified was taken out by Rickie Smith over popular driver Doug Winters. Meanwhile, several racers had much less pleasing weekends.
