Neo-Classical Persian Dance by Melieka Fathi for Farhang Performances

#FarhangPerformances Episode 20: MELIEKA FATHI Farhang Foundation is thrilled to welcome back long time Farhang collaborator Melieka Fathi to this edition of #FarhangPerformances. Melieka Fathi is a choreographer, instructor and performer of various styles of Persian dance. As the daughter of Iranian immigrants, her passion for Persian dance was paved through a sacred connection to Iranian art, and by exploration of her identity as an Iranian-American woman. She is the founder and artistic director of the Melieka Fathi Dance Company based in Los Angeles, California; and has worked with world renowned artists and organizations in an effort to preserve and expand upon Iranian arts within diaspora communities. Farhang Foundation was proud to have Ms. Fathi featured at our 2019 Nowruz Celebrations, as well as our 2019 Shab-e Yalda concert. Today she performs an exclusive neo-classical Persian dance for us from her home in Los Angeles to the song titled Elflolch - “Zolf“ by Salar Aghili.
