Mosonshow 2023

Ich war wieder in modellbauerischer Mission unterwegs, diesmal ging es nach Ungarn in die Stadt Mosonmagyaróvár auf die weltweit bekannte Mosonshow. Das wollte ich mir endlich auch mal geben! Die Anfahrt war gar nicht so weit und umständlich wie gedacht und was dort geboten war hatte es wirklich in sich! Die ausgestellten Modelle waren so gut wie alle Teil eines großen Wettbewerbs, dementsprechend war das Niveau der Arbeiten unglaublich hoch und die Themen vielfältig. Das war schon sehr beeindruckend! Leider bringt es der Wettbewerb mit sich, dass man als Besucher auch gewisse Nachteile hat, so stehen zum Beispiel die jeweiligen Erbauer der ausgestellten Meisterwerke nicht wirklich für ein Gespräch zur Verfügung, was ich schade finde. Dafür konnte im Händlerbereich mehr gequatscht werden, dort gab es alles erdenkliche rund um den Modellbau zu kaufen. Erstaunlich war der hohe Anteil an Figurenbausätzen und Zubehör aller Art, vom Sockel bis zu Photoätzteilen. Mir hat die Reise und der Besuch dort sehr viel Spaß gemacht, zumal ich dort auch den einen oder anderen Fan treffen durfte. Das ist natürlich immer etwas besonderes! Mal sehen, vielleicht fahre ich nächstes Jahr wieder hin, es wäre mir jedenfalls wieder ein Vergnügen. I wanted to see in person what that is all about! The journey there wasn´t as far and complicated as i had imagined and what i found there on display was really mind blowing! The models on display were basically all part of one huge contest, therefore the quality was extremely high and the array of subjects incredibly wide. That was really impressive to behold! Unfortunately the contest setup has a few disadvantages for the visitors, the modellers who built those masterpieces are not really accessible for a chat for example, which is a shame i think. However, in the vendor area it was possible to talk a lot, everything you can think of that is related to scale modelling could be bought there. I was surprised by the amount of figure kits and accessory in particular, like bases and all sorts of photo-etch sets. I really enjoyed my journey and my visit, even more so since i was able to meet a few fans there in person. This is always something special!
