Mid-paced, doomy and desperate Raw Black Metal, akin to their compatriots in Kêres, Starcave and other projects surrounding the Elemental Cavern, Rotten Moon’s primitive composition style evokes a feeling of timelessness and infinitude, thus conveying the ominous vision of the decaying of astral bodies and the dusk of the cosmos. Adorned with crystalline and entrancing keys, like the hypnotizing gaze of kaleidoscopic nebulas or the silence and peace in being imminently consumed by the cosmic void; and the funereal mantras that emanate from the ritualistic drums, Rotten Moon’s debut surely transports the listener into distant eons, when the light will no longer shine.
