A CME Is Expected To Hit Earth’s Magnetic Field - New Sunspot Region Just Produced An M-Class Flare

A CME is expected to hit Earth’s magnetic field this weekend--late on Nov. 19th. The impact could spark minor (G1) to Moderate (G2) class geomagnetic storms on the 19th and 20th. Aurora sky watchers should be alert this weekend beginning Sunday. Solar activity reached moderate levels due to an flare. A sunspot region turning into view off the northeast limb just produced a moderate solar flare. We will get a better look at the region during the next day or so.
