Yamaha RA100 Rotary Amplifier Demo

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I posted anything here. Still not very comfortable talking so hopefully you don’t mind the ancient art form of a written word. Here is a hopefully not too long demo by Jarrod G of a Yamaha RA100 rotary speaker amp combo. Ths amp came in for a service (re-cap/replace all the electrolytic capacitors in both the supply and signal coupling and decoupling) as well as one speaker distorting. Due to the high cost of re-cone of the original, it was decided to replace the original with a pair of Celestion Vintage 30’s. It appears that the speaker upgrade was well worth it. The RA100 uses two rotating high/mid speakers mounted under the top cover. The larger verion, the RA200, was famously used by Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour in the late 70’s and on his first solo album which is where the first demo track “Raise My Rent“ is taken from.
