Anneleen Lenaerts & friends play Johann Strauss II: An der schönen blauen Donau (“The Blue Danube“)

Vienna Stories by Anneleen Lenaerts is “a reflection and celebration“ of the Belgian harpist’s musical home, the glorious and historical city of Vienna. Discover here: Here, she plays the eternal Blue Danube waltz by Johann Strauss II with five string players from the Wiener Philharmoniker, of which she is the principal harpist. The musicians are the orchestra’s concertmaster Rainer Honeck, violinist Benjamin Morrison, viola player Gerhard Marschner, cellist Raphael Flieder, and double bass player Michael Bladerer. On the album, Anneleen Lenaerts explains: “As a reflection and celebration of the journey so far, I have selected pieces from both the operatic and symphonic worlds that are special to me and tell a story about my life in the Wiener Philharmoniker.
