a LAMBDOMA group performance

A Lambdoma Performance. Enjoy this 19-minutes-live performance, everything in this video is freely improvised! The musical build up happens gradually, find the groovy parts in the last third. ;-) Anna-Maria Hefele (voice), Tobias Steinberger (lambdoma & percussion), and Alois Eberl (trombone) collaborated to create the music in this video. Thomas Radlwimmer filmed it, while Monika Schuberth and Klara Wolf danced together. The LAMBDOMA, a musical sculpture, was constructed by Josef Baier, an artist from Austria. Its origins can be traced back to the Lambdoma Matrix, an ancient system associated with the philosopher Pythagoras around 500 BC. Josef Baiers Lambdoma consists of four Lambdoma Matrixes combined in a rectangular shape, creating a dome accessible to both performer and listener. The structure includes 256 tubes, ranging up to 3 meters in length, precisely tuned in pure harmonic overtone - and undertone series. At the AT HOME GALLERY in Samorin, Slovakia, the music and video were recorded live and freely improvised on May 9, 2022. Working with LAMBDOMA was an incredible and touching experience for me, Anna-Maria Hefele. Through my continuous overtone singing practice since 2005, I’ve gained a precise and intuitive understanding of the tonal Lambdoma structure, enabling me to anticipate and comprehend the relationships between notes within the system. Through this incredible instrument, I was able to deeply connect with the essence of sound and experience pure joy.
