30,000,000 Block Render Distance in Minecraft?!

This is done using a mod called FarPlane2 which adds levels of detail to the game. Blocks thousands of blocks away from the player may just be rendered with 1 or 2 triangles, whereas blocks close up get the full amount. That lets the world generate pretty fast, and also helps with not exploding my computer. Please note before you download that FarPlane2 is in pre-pre-pre-alpha. It has too many bugs to be stable at the moment, and I do not recommend using it on any worlds you care about—you hear that for other mods in development, but this warning is actually merited.
