SCOOP: Chinese Hyperbola-2 rocket challenges SpaceX with successful hop test

HOP TEST: Watch out SpaceX, Chinese Hyperbola-2 rocket took a giant leap towards reusability with a successful hop test proving its vertical take off and landing capability. Enjoy the breathtaking footage of the successful 200 m VTVL test carried out by Hyperbola-2 liquid methane fed stage of Ispace, a Chinese private company. The Chinese Methane Grasshopper is here, with maximum altitude at almost 200 m. Hop test: China’s iSpace has conducted a ~200 metre altitude VTVL test with its Hyperbola-2 methane-liquid oxygen test stage. The Interstellar Glory “Hyperbolic 2“ verification rocket (SQX-2Y) completed a vertical take-off and landing flight test at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center this afternoon. The maximum flight height this time was nearly 200 meters. The SQX-2Y rocket has a maximum diameter of meters and is equipped with the Focus-1 liquid oxygen methane engine independently developed by Interstellar Honor to verify the actual flight and return conditions of the first stage of the reusable launch vehicle. #ChinaSpace #Hyperbola2 ##SQX2
