FURIN MAKING | Japanese Traditional Crafts - English subtitles -

#JapaneseTraditionalCrafts ⭐️Shinohara Furin Honpo Shinohara Furin Honpo was founded in 1915 by Matahei Shinohara. ⭐️Furin Although a furin, Japanese wind chime, can be made of different materials such as metal, porcelain, and glass, its construction and purpose are the same. It has the bowl-shaped body hung upside down with a string that penetrates the bowl. A stick and a piece of paper are attached on the string. When the wind blows, it‘s caught by the paper strip which causes the stick to ring the chime. Summer in Tokyo can be hot and humid, but furins remind people of the wind and make them feel cooler. ⭐️Edo Furin Edo Furin is made with the same techniques that has been used since the 18th century. The second generation, Yoshiharu Shinohara has approved of the use of the name by his apprentices, but other than that, Edo furin is only made here at Shinohara Furin Honpo. Since every single piece of Edo Furin is made by hand, no two Edo Furins are alike. ⭐️several tips First, you shouldn’t dilute the paint with water too much. The paint will run off when it’s too thin. Second, do not paint the jagged edge. Remember? Smooth edge doesn’t create a good sound. Third, the brush doesn’t reach the bottom very well, so try to paint on the upper half. 🔗 Japanese Cultural Experience 🔗 Japan Travel Vlogs 🔗 Japanese Festival Follow ➳ Trip to Japan with Me Instagram: Twitter: ____________________ Music by Epidemic Sound
