This is the PBS Masterpiece Theater production of Daniel DeFoe’s 1722 novel set in England. It is very well produced with authentic sets and costumes of the period. It shows how the people lived in that era and the hardships that befell the poor people having to rot in jail for virtually meaningless crimes or debts owed. This is a 3 hour long production originally telecast in 1996.. Great production scenery and authentic costumes.. Well worth watching as it closely follows the book unlike the 1996 big
