Chief Wahl is the 36th Chief of Police for SDPD. Today marks the start of a new era for the San Diego Police Department. We are honored to announce that Chief Scott Wahl has been sworn in as our 36th Chief of Police. In a touching ceremony, Chief Wahl’s son removed his “Assistant Chief“ badge, symbolizing the end of one chapter, while his wife pinned on his new “Chief“ badge, marking the beginning of another. Mayor Todd Gloria administered the oath of office, a promise Chief Wahl first made as a young recruit and now renewed with the same dedication and commitment.
