Burnout in front of marked police lands Chisholm man in court

A 31-year-old Chisholm man will be summonsed to face court after performing a burnout directly in front of a marked police vehicle in Gilmore last week. About on Friday, 16 September 2022, police were on patrol in Gilmore when a Toyota utility pulled out in front of them. The vehicle came to a stop, before performing a burnout in front of the marked police car for approximately 20 seconds – the entire incident was captured by police dash-cam. Police performed a traffic stop a short time later, where the driver returned a positive roadside screen for alcohol; he later returned a positive breath sample of - more than three times the legal limit. The man’s drivers’ licence was immediately suspended, and his vehicle seized. He has also been charged with drink driving and improper use of a motor vehicle.
