525,000 people are in danger due to the cyclone of Filipo! Inhambane, Mozambique Tropical storm Filipo has made landfall over the north-eastern coast of Inhambane Province, central-southern Mozambique, very close to the city of Inhassoro. Over 525,000 people, 850 schools, and 140 medical centers are considered at risk due to the passage of the cyclone. Since the beginning of the rainy season, 55,500 individuals have been affected, with over 3,500 homes partially or completely destroyed. Additionally, 190 schools have suffered damage as a result of the storm’s impact. Authorities are mobilizing relief efforts to assist affected communities and mitigate further damage caused by the tropical storm. Naturals hazards in 2024 have become more frequent.
