Give try to this chow mein (street style) recipe a try and share your feedback with us. #ChowMeinRecipe #StreetStyleChowMein #SooperChef Desi chow mein written recipe: Ingredients for chicken marination: Chicken boneless strips 1/2 kg Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp Salt to taste Soy sauce 1 tbsp Oil 1 tbsp Ingredients for noodles: Noodles half pack Carrot (julienne) 1 cup Cabbage (shredded) 1 cup Spring onion (slant) 1 cup Capsicum (julienne) 1 cup Garlic (chopped) 1 tbsp Onion (sliced) 1 cup Chow mien sauce 1/2 cup Ingredients for chow mein sauce: Ketchup 1 cup Soy sauce 1 tbsp Chili sauce 2 tbsp Black pepper 1/2 tsp Red chili flakes 1 tsp Brown sugar 1 tbsp Red chili powder 1 tsp White pepper powder 1/2 tsp Garam masala powder 1/4 tsp Salt to taste Directions: 1. For chicken marination in a bowl add chicken strips along with black pepper powder, salt, soy sauce, oil and mix it well. Marinate it for 12 to 15 minutes. 2. Make chow mein sauce by mixing ketchup, soy sauce, chili sauce, black pepper, red chili flakes, brown sugar, red chili powder, white pepper powder and garam masala powder in a bowl. Your sauce is ready to use. Set aside. 3. In a pot of simmering water add ¼ tsp of salt, oil, noodles and boil until they are 80% done. Take out rinse them in cold water to avoid sticking and set aside. 4. To make chow mein in a wok heat oil, add garlic and sauté it for a minute. Add marinated chicken and cook until it changes color for about 2 minutes. 5. Add veggies including carrots, cabbage and stir fry on high flame for about 1 to 2 minutes. Then add capsicum, onion, chow mien sauce and cook on high flame for two more minutes. Don’t overcook, try to keep your veggies crunchy. 6. Lastly in wok add boiled noodles, spring onions and give it a good mix. 7. Your delicious desi style chow mein is ready to serve. Serve hot.
