Annual Potato Harvest, Planting Garlic & Putting the Garden to Bed | Saying Goodbye to a Friend

It’s never easy to say goodbye to a beloved companion, we sadly had to do just that for our wild and speckled pup Bandit. You were a tremendous part of our everyday lives and we are so grateful for all the time we were able to spend with you over the years. Life won’t be the same without you. We will cherish you always and never forget you stampeding around as if running was the only option, splashing and digging in any possible body of water, and most of all, looking after us. We love you Bandit, may you roam free now ❤️ It’s the end of the growing season here in Alaska, we spend several days pulling up spent vegetables, weeding and mulching the garden beds with a good dosage of compost, leaves and straw. We also dig up our yearly supply of potatoes and get our garlic planted. After all the garden work is done we make Kolduny, a fried potato pancake filled with caribou meat and onion. We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀 Thank you
