WNSW PHN Webinar: COPD and Home Oxygen Therapy

COPD is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality and is often incorrectly treated. The Lung Foundation of Australia has identified this as a problem and provides a framework for the appropriate diagnosis and treatment of COPD (COPD-X). However, many patients are on legacy treatment which can be potentially harmful, this talk should provide updates as to the latest treatments and their role and most importantly who qualifies. Home oxygen is a treatment many patients wish to access but there are clear guidelines on who will qualify, based on evidence of who will actually benefit. The second half of the talk will provide an update on long term oxygen therapy and portable oxygen therapy.
