After the end of WWII, Moscopol opposed the political system established in Bucharest. At the time when Romanians had learned to keep quiet in order not to end up in prison or the canal. He composed anti-communist ballads and couplets in which he urged Romanians not to lose hope. He was sent into exile by the communists and spent the rest of his life in the USA (New York).
