Kita-Kei - Yurikamome

Get it here: Kita-Kei are Satoru Shimomi and Kita-Ku from Tokyo, Japan who have scored recent successes on labels such as Alter Ego, Extrema and Surgikal. The Yurikamome is the name of Tokyo’s first fully automated transit system, a pretty apt name for a delightful piece of trance that takes us on a high-tech journey of its own (if you’ll pardon the cliché). Clocking in at 134 bpm arpeggios, acidic stabs and crisp percussion set things up nicely from the off. An initially wistful breakdown surprises with some Stranger Things – esque bass synths, followed by an energetic. Classy trance from a Japanese act to watch.
