ILKKA HEINONEN: Pavan a Nikodemus

Pavan a Nikodemus (comp. Ilkka Heinonen) Pavan a Nikodemus is based on two jouhikko tunes collected from Nikodemus Hirvonen, Kesälahti, Northern Karelia in 1854. A partly improvised composition has a nature of obituary pavans from the era of the great English viol masters in the late 16th century.
