Between my bed and floor The darkness clots!  Counting the sheepies that hop over fences,  Putting together my dignity’s bits,  I don’t need no pills to be brought to my senses,  This time I will win without dopping and cheats! One, two, three sheep over fence, Head filled with sheepies, they giggle and dance. Then I hear a giggle from under my bed. not afraid, not afraid, not afraid!  Lie imprisoned in bed with sheets so white,  Begging sunrise to end the ruthless night.  Eyes are scanning the dark, face white as sheets,  And my hands are wet, squeezing my daddy’s bat.  Never tell me it’s time to get to sleep!! Eyelids, Bloody traitors Drawing closer. Darkness seems to move Toward my shoulder. I think I see his hand Across my bed it creeps He sings the alphabet And chews my fluffy sheep!  I’m imprisoned in bed for what seems years,  Brushing thoughts off my mind until it’s clear.  There’s something that tries to fill the space -  Guess for him it is time to take my place.
