Die Grenzwacht hielt im Osten [German folk song][+English translation]

A clearer version of: The song is from the poem “die Baltenfahne“ from Karl Freiherr Manteuffel-Katzdangen. He was related to Hans von Manteuffel who fell 1919 at Riga and should tell the story of him and the Baltikumer, German soldiers fighting shortly after ww1 in the Baltic states.. The poem was created in 1920, just one year after Hans has fallen, but published the first time in the 30s without a melody. Here in German: English: So in 1920 these soldiers had to leave the baltic region, because of no support from the German government. In the song they are desperrate, many had fallen. They return to their fatherland and bring home their flag as their last duty. But it will be the duty of their children to bring the flag back to eastern land (Ostland).
