Kiev pride parade lasts just 10 minutes before being called off

Ukraine’s capital hosted a pride parade on Saturday for the first time since the conflict with Russia began. Predictably, things didn’t go as smoothly as they could have. A decidedly lackluster affair to begin with, the heavily policed event involved just a few hundred attendees, who gathered outside the office of a Ukrainian news agency. According to reports, the crowd walked up and down outside the office for about 10 minutes, before the event was called off for ‘security reasons.’ As well as the standard LGBT flags, people were also seen waving banners demanding more weapons for Ukraine, ironically putting them in agreement with the nationalist counter-protesters who turned up. That group had turned up to defend ‘traditional values,’ and had reportedly planned to reach the pride parade, but that had been declared a damp squib and called off before they could get there. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
