Listening to their music, we involuntarily draw attention to its similarity with such hits of Pink Floyd. In addition to the PF, musicians were influenced by bands such as Manfred Mann, Alan Parsons, Marillion. And the sound of these bands is heard in their records, and on some songs even Supertramp. This is not surprising, since the very founder of the group Reto Iseli is a fan of Supertramp. But the prevailing influence on their sound was, of course, PF. By the way, among the 431 franchises of the group on Cosmos’ s Friend Space, the first are David Gilmour and Roger Waters, as well as Alan Parsons and Marillion. When drummer Reto Iseli collected his first line-up called Glacier Eagles in 1990, he was heavily influenced by Pink Floyd’s creative work from 1973-1977. The musicians tried to make their covers, but it seemed to them a little interesting, although the sound turned out to be similar. After joining the group of guitarist and vocalist Olivier Maier, the group changed its name to Cosmos and finally chose the path of imitation of the PF. And I must say I did it very successfully. But it took another four years, while the band managed to release the first studio album “The deciding Moments of your Life“ (1994) and go on their first tour tour. Since it was successful, the performances at large and small concert venues, in elite and not very clubs and discotheques, allowed the band from 1995 to 1998 to run the material, as they say, live. They were well received in Basel, Steg (VS), Wattenwil, Progsol-Festival (Solothurn), Hoffestival (Langenthal), Worb, Kandersteg, Bern. At that time the group had to invite session musicians to withstand the tension of numerous performances. At times, up to 10 musicians appeared on stage, including the great singer Sandee (Sandra Moser), who later made a successful solo career. A long tour was not wasted. Disagreements and frictions began in the group, especially in determining the further creative path. Personal ambition, fatigue, mutual irritation and a desire to work independently led to the fact that the group for two years stopped working together. So, however, it happened before and after them. Something similar happened to their idols PF. There it came to the trial, and to mutual filthy accusations. So, from 1998 to 2000 the musicians spent among families, resting from each other. But their fans and producers did not think that there was no place for the revival of the band. Gradually, they were able to convince the musicians themselves. The beginning was put by Olivier Maier and Heiko Garrn, who turned to other musicians with an offer to reunite or, better to say, be reborn to create a new project. Founder Reto Iseli returned to Cosmos. His arrival was associated with changes in the composition of the group. It included a cairboardist and composer Daniel Eggenberger, and to enhance the female vocals of Silvia Thierstein. The band began to rehearse intensely, to roll out new material and after the demo CD “Different Faces“ in 2003 concert performances began. She traditionally gave a lot of small concerts, and on August 27, 2004 the group performed at Interlaken in Open Air “Move to rugenrock“, where Cosmos presented the audience with a show program in the style of Pink Floyd. Giant light and pyro-effects, together with perfectly selected and executed material, won the sympathy of the audience and added admirers, and most importantly the buyers of their creativity. There were also recorded CD and DVD “Cosmos Live“. In the end, all this resulted in the recording of the second studio album “Skygarden“, which was recorded in 2005 in the studios of Backyard Studios Bern and Greenwood Studios Nunningen. *** Reto Iseli - drums, vocals Heiko Garrn - bass Olivier Maier - guitars, vocals Daniel Eggenberger - keyboards Silvia Thierstein - vocals
