Many people think they are Chimpanzees, but although they are very similar and both are closely related to humans, the bonobo is a lot slender in appearance. With Chimpanzees the males are dominant, but the bonobo it’s the females. Why are bonobos endangered? Unfortunately like a lot of other animals, they are threatened by habitat loss and human population growth. Twycross zoo is helping the bonobos get back to the wild by supporting the Conservation Welfare fund with the daily running of the sanctuary Lola ya Bonobo.
