MASAMUNE - Great Master of the Soshu Tradition - Part 1

Masamune is considered to be one of the greatest of the old masters and he is by far the most famous swordsmith from Japanese history. Masamune was one of the founders of the Soshu tradition and went on to influence and inspire swordsmiths up to the present day. This is the first of a series of videos on Masamune, and provides historical background to sword forging in Kamakura and the earliest smiths of the Soshu school. Later videos will focus more on the works of Masamune himself and also go into detail on his famous students.
