Merceditas | Renato Borghetti | Playing For Change

In a poignant display of solidarity and hope, we share this special performance of “Merceditas” by Porto Alegre native, Renato Borghetti, filmed during the challenging times of the pandemic by our partners at the “Playing For Change Instituto“ in Brazil. In light of the recent devastating floods in Rio Grande Do Sul and Porto Alegre, this video not only captures a unique moment in history, but also serves a greater cause today, as we come together to support our community in its time of need. Join us in leveraging the universal language of music to raise awareness and extend a helping hand to the resilient communities of Rio Grande do Sul. Let’s maximize our impact and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters with hopes of mobilizing further support and resources for a region grappling with the aftermath of this tragedy. Any assistance or contributions would be greatly appreciated during this critical time of need. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting music programs for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet. To learn more, visit To learn more about the work of the PFC Foundation, visit
