KALIMET ▲ a musical portrait of Agona Shporta in Prizren
Summer 2017, Kosovo
DokuFest is happening for the 16th year - a documentary film festival dedicated to exploring the margins, open to new possibilities in cinema, and who invited us for some special, site-specific performances of improvised cinema and music.
We meet up with Agona when we arrive, she got introduced to us for a possible live collaboration. Quickly the idea emerge of making a short film about her, following her gracious voice in her hometown, one of the most gorgeous city of the Balkans.
She brings us from her family house to the summit of the Prizren fortress, passing by the Sinan Pasha mosque. Here is a little ’dérive’, or ’kalimet’, from ancient songs to local passers-by.
A short film by Priscilla Telmon and Vincent Moon
Produced by Petites Planètes in association with DokuFest
Special thanks to Nita Deda
