Columbus’ Vacant House Epidemic

Columbus has about 6,200 abandoned homes. Most are sequestered in a few neighborhoods: North and South Linden, Franklinton, the Hilltop, the Near East Side, and the Near South Side. For his final project in Ohio State University’s Comm. 426 (multimedia journalism), Steve Brown took a look at the problem, and how county and city leaders are using $15 million on a new effort: the Franklin County Land Bank.
