Room Miking Tricks - Creating A Boundary Mic

I’m back with another cool room miking trick! I absolutely love finding ways to create a sense of space around a drum sound. Something that adds a vibe or energy to the sound. One of those ways is using a small diaphragm condenser to create a “PZM“ or “Boundary“ mic. This is a very effective way of creating space without getting too roomy. Plus it works in almost any room!! This is similar to the how I use an SM57 on a wall. If you haven’t seen that video you should check it out!
