Doctor Who - McCulloch 1987 #DoctorWho #60thAnniversary

💜💜➕🌂 Happy Christmas! 🎄 And continuing the series is Keff McCulloch’s take for the first all-CGI title sequence for Doctor Who. Probably the most significant departure from the original theme to date, the key moves to A and incorporates the middle eight into the opening sequence. Impressively this was made entirely on the Prophet V, so I was equally as impressed that I managed to recreate much of the same on Arturia’s soft synth emulation. Keff would also provide the score for several episodes, including Sylvester McCoy’s debut (and consequently this theme) in Time and the Rani, the soundtrack which was recently released including demos of Keff’s theme - much of it made it to the official mix but it’s fascinating to hear the original opening bars along with an even bigger array of wind effects and possibly the original sting. Similar to the Glynn mix, this is a hybrid of both the demo and the official tracks and has been remade entirely from the ground up (bar one or two samples). Download: Artwork by @ochenery.
