Introductory title reads: “To some modern maids there’s an element of sport even in making butter in a Dairy Competition.“ L/S of several women furiously spinning barrels of milk to make butter. C/U of one of the girls deep in concentration as she turns her barrel. L/S of other women at different stage of their butter making - forming the butter into pats. “...but Sport generally means something happening in the great outdoors. Whether it’s old English Archery - “ L/S of a line of women taking aim with bows and arrows. M/S of some of the women taking aim. C/U of the target as arrows hit it. Shot from behind a woman as she takes aim. C/U of one of the women (or is it a man in drag?!) taking aim. C/U of her face after she has fired the shot. M/S of women looking at their arrows embedded in the target. “- or a Continental counterpart in the snow by the bleaker sex -“ reads the next intertitle.
