Edgar Arro - Estonian Folk Tune No. 3 | VU St. John’s Church

Edgar Arro (1911-1978) was one of the most famous Estonian composers for organ in the 20th century. His 6 volumes of Estonian Folk Tunes for organ is a wealth of beautiful Estonian melodies, mixed with modern musical language. I played a few of these miniatures during my student years at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater and recently became interested in them again, not only as an organist but also as a composer who uses folk melodies of various countries to create organ compositions. I hope you will enjoy Estonian Folk Tune No. 3 by Edgar Arro which I recorded at Vilnius University St. John’s church!
