Young Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick was born on the 26th July 1928 in New York to parents Jack & Sadie. This early home video of Stanley (in front of the camera for once) is from the early 1930s in the Bronx and shows a number of his family members. Personal recording cameras were rare for this time as the equipment was big & heavy and they were expensive to own. Perhaps this was the start of Stanley’s photography & filmography bug? It was Jack Kubrick who bought Stanley his first camera which would ultimately lead to Stanley being revered as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Film courtesy of the Kubrick family.
