US General Explains F-16 ’Math’ As Ukraine Says It Needs 60 to 80 Jets, Russia Readies More Su-57s

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley has said Washington is simply unable to provide enough F-16 fighter jets to assist Ukraine’s counteroffensive, citing the time and money needed to supply the weapons. Asked during a Tuesday press briefing why Ukraine has not received the American fighters, Milley said the focus should instead be on artillery and air defenses, as F-16s will not be feasible in the near-term. “Just do a quick math drill here. Ten F-16s are $2 billion,” he said. “The Russians have hundreds of fourth- and fifth-generation airframes, so if they’re going to try to match the Russians one for one – or even, you know, two-to-one – you’re talking about a large number of aircraft.” #russiaukrainewar #f16 #pentagon #markmilley #biden #zelensky #putin #ukraine #russia #su57 n18oc_world n18oc_crux 0:00 INTRODUCTION 1:33 US GREEN LIGHT TO TRAIN UKRAINIAN PILOTS ON F-16 BUT… 3:22 ‘WE NEED 60-80 F-16s’ 4:26 RUSSIA READIES MORE FIFTH-GEN FIGHTER JETS CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
