Ekaterina Mikhaylushkina is The World Games Athlete of July 2021!

In July 2021 the 19-year-old Russian athlete Ekaterina Mikhaylushkina dominated the Finswimming World Championships in Tomsk, Russia, winning all three of her individual events and two relays, making it five gold medals in total. In the 100m surface race, Mikhaylushkina improved her own world record. The only time at the World Championships she picked up a silver medal was in the mixed relay: even though the Russian Underwater Federation set a European record in the race, it was still not good enough to beat the Chinese team, who set a world record. More than deservedly, Ekaterina Mikhaylushkina is The World Games Athlete of July 2021! At The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland, Ekaterina Mikhaylushkina was only 15 years old. Despite her young age, she won two gold medals and one silver at the Games. Then a few weeks later she won five gold and two silver medals at the World Junior Championships. Mikhaylushkina is clearly the dominant swimmer of her era – and the fastest female swimmer in the world, because Petra Senanszky competes in the slightly slower bi-fins category. In Birmingham in 2022 she has the chance to show the world again who is the fastest swimmer on the planet! #RoadToBHM #AotM #Finswimming
