South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) unveiled the new HDL-13000 MRSS at the Defence Service Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) 2022 currently held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. ===================== ▶ The HDL-13000 design is being proposed for the Royal Malaysian Navy’s Multi-Role Support Ship (MRSS) acquisition project. It has a length overall of 160 meters, a beam of 25 meters and a displacement of 13,000 tons. This vessel is intended to serve as a main platform for the force’s logistics support and also Humanitarian and Disaster Relief operation. The most prominent aspect of the design configuration is the enclosed Vehicle Deck that runs the length of the vessel from the bow to the stern which can carry more than 16 Main Battle Tanks and 6 Multirole Armored Vehicles. The aft portion of the Vehicle Deck also serves as a Well Deck. A sideport ramp and a stern gate provide access to the Vehicle Deck.
