Shohei Ono - End of an Era (Career tribute)

Shohei Ono is a recently retired Japanese judoka who competed in the -73 kg weight category. He is considered to be one of the best judokas of the last decade and all time. He dominated international Judo from 2012 until 2021, winning every major tournament in his weight category, including 2 Olympic gold medals, 3 World championships and 1 Asian Championship. Ono had a unique style of Judo based on his distinctive gripping tactics, power and technical prowess. His main throws were Uchi Mata and O Soto Gari/Otoshi, both of which have achieved legendary status among Judo fans.
