Swell Maps - Read About Seymour (live)

Recorded live in Italy 1980. This was the Swell Maps last tour... by the end of it, the band was no more. All the shows on the tour were recorded by the Swell Maps’ soundman, Adam ’Skipper’ Kidron on a four track reel to reel with a view to documenting the shows but all but one of the reels of tape were stolen in Genoa! The only track released from the surviving live tape is on “Whatever Happens Next...“ Nikki Sudden got in touch in Jan 2006 to point out that a live version of “Read About Seymour“ from the Italian shows had been played on WFMU radio in New Jersey. Brian Turner, the programme director from WFMU explained that the whole set was available to download on Soulseek and other file-sharing programmes. “I’ve always hoped they’d turn up but there hasn’t been a sign until the discovery of this number.
