Mark Menzies quits Conservatives as Tories say conduct ‘fell below standard’

Mark Menzies has confirmed he will quit the Conservative Party and resign as an MP at the upcoming general election. The member for Fylde will resign after an internal investigation found “a pattern of behaviour that falls below the standards expected of MPs“. The 52-year-old is accused of misusing party funds to cover medical expenses and pay off “bad people“ who had locked him away and demanded money.
