Uzeir Hajibekov - National Anthem of AZERBAIJAN, arranged by Andrey Shilov

“Azərbaycan marşı“ is the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, one of the main state symbols of Azerbaijan, along with the flag and coat of arms. The melody of the anthem was written in 1919 by the Azerbaijani composer Uzeir Hajibekov, the words belong to the poet Ahmed Javad. The anthem was officially adopted on May 27, 1992, after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s independence. During the years of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the composer Uzeir Hajibekov wrote two marches. Both of these works were published in Turkish musicologist Etem Unger’s book Turk marslar?, in 1965 in Ankara. Their manuscripts were delivered to Turkey by the composer’s brother Jeyhun Hajibekov. One of these marches is called the “Azerbaijani National March“ (Azerbaijan: Azərbaycan milli marşı).
