Grandad Toymaker [sic] Aka Granddad Toy Maker (1968)

Lavant, West Sussex. Various shots of wooden toys being manufactured at Good-Wood Toys Ltd.; small wooden toys are rolled about in wooden drums to make their edges smooth; a woman factory worker fits pieces together to make a toy plane or helicopter; similar toys are seen on a conveyor belt. Several shots show 86-year-old Walter Lines working on a design for a new toy factory at his drawing board and sitting at his desk to examine new finished toys. Walter is seen playing with various wooden toys with some of his grandchildren in a kind of toy showroom; a boy clambers over a wooden climbing frame. A woman is also seen with the children, she could be Walter’s daughter, Henrietta Lines BSC, who was in charge of this factory and Lady Chairman of Hamley’s toy store.
