Lymphedema Wrapping for a Leg - Self-Compression Bandaging for Lymphedema and Swelling Treatment

Leg Lymphedema is best managed with compression bandaging. In this video, I show how to complete self lymphedema wrapping for treatment to a leg that is swollen or thickened with fibrosis. I will explain some of the supplies I use, and down below you can see where to purchase them. 00:00 Intro 01:00 How compression works and why I chose this routine 02:06 Supplies/Products I use 04:19 Bandaging Routine, step-by-step *DISCLAIMER* I do not have lymphedema, I am simply a lymphedema physical therapist. I genuinely understand that this is not easy to self-bandage and that I am not limited by my motion to do it independently. Many will need assistance from others for help. Per request from some of the individuals I work with each day in the clinic, this video is meant to help someone (and possibly a caregiver) follow along for set-by-step simple bandaging at home. I work with my patients to find modifications for positioning at home, as well as different styles of bandaging and padding, and I encourage everyone to work with his or her CLT to do the same. I hope this is helpful mostly for those who are new to bandaging or cannot get to his or her CLT for COVID or access issues.
