Dynamic designs by Hastings enhanced through the versatility of precast concrete help meet efficiency and cost goals for EakinPartners’ new office building, Peabody Plaza. Patterned with ornate precast concrete panels and glass, the façade is an ever-changing reflection of the surrounding city of Nashville, TN. Precast concrete was essential in allowing the design team to generate an exterior facade like no other in the metro city, or the southeast region. Projections of the precast surface exude an acid-etched finish while the remaining 75 percent of the panels were polished to reveal the black granite aggregate that created a more reflective and contrasting face. Because the precast was a major design element and large percentage of the building skin, its affordability and quick erection time were key factors in keeping the building on schedule and within budget, while providing the added benefits of increased service life and resiliency. #GATEAshlandCity #howprecastbuilds #precastconcrete #
